Mr. and Mrs. Crewe, Mr. and Mrs. C. Foote and family, Mr. S. Rennell, and the Rev. Colvilc were annnf; Uio passengers for Auckland by tno Harawa last night. Mr. E. E. Booth, advance agent for Mr. Lawrence Campbell, the great elocutionist, is in town, completing arrangements for Mr. Campbell’s appearance. A Sydney cablegram states that Mr. Smith and Misses Walker and Turnbull have been elected New Zealand representatives on the general committee of, the Australasian Students’ Christian Union.
Mr. A. T. Dryden, Chief-postmaster, arrived from Auckland on Monday and has taken up his now duties. Mr. J. H. Stephens! inspecting” officer for the Wellin.gton District, who has been Aet-irtg-chief-postmaster since Mr. Chaney’s departure, is to leave for the south either • this evening or to-morrow morning. ■Mr. Booth, the well-known Otago footballer and member of the All Black Team, is at present in town on theatrical business. Mr. Booth accompanied the Wallabies on their tour through the United as correspondent for the Sydney Referee. Up to last year he was a representative for Now South Wales, and is at present caataiu of the Newtown team, which) holds an unbeaten record'for 1910.
