Hoxsey and Moissant, who were making flights near Now Orleans, have been killed by being caught in treacherous air currents. Sir. Two aviators who witnessed the accident collapsed, weeping, and an enormous crowd was silenced for five minutes by the suddenness of tho accident. An inquest was hold two honrs later, and a verdict of accidental death was returned. Mr. Moissant, who was also flying near New Orleans, fell out on his machine being overturned, and broke his neck. Both accidents were caused by treacherous wind gusts. Hoxsey reached an altitude of 10,573 feet. LONDON, Jan. 1. Sopwith was the winner of tho De Forest aviation prize. Eracomont, whilst monoplauing at Versailles, dropped easily from an altitude of 600 feet, and then, when attempting to avoid an obstacle, tho machine overturned and ho fell 60 feet. Several hones were broken, and the monopianist succumbed to his injuries. President Fallieres conferred on him tho Order of tho Legion of Honour before he died. PARIS, Jan. 2. The balloon Hildebrundt, with two men, has been missing since Thursday last, when it was seen over tho Baltic Sea.
