RIFLE SHOOTING.
Tho Taranaki Rifles competed in tho teams match at the Wanganui meeting. The tricky nature of the wind when the men wont down interfered to a very considerable extent with the shooting, Lieut. Mnrctt, champion and runnerup at previous meetings, who is usually in tho vicinity of throe figures, dropping to 76. Tho team’s range scores were as follow;
Taraiiald will bo -well represented at tho Auckland Rifle Association meeting on Monday and Tuesday. Tho Taranaki Rifles arc sending six) men, viz., Licuts. Willis and Marott, Sergeants Davies and Sonth’am, Privates Blanchett and Arnold. Colour-Sergeant Hartnell will represent tho Guards, whilst tho riflo clubs will be represented by Rifleman Guy (Kapouga), Speck (Stratford), Jenkins (OUato) and Harrison (Rahotu). Tho Taranaki Rifles have entered a team in the teams match. 1
