NORTHERN ASSOCIATION. . Per Press Association WELLINGTON, Oct. 24. The council of the Northern Bowling Association met to-night ,aml passed the programme for tho Auckland tournament next January. It was decided to limit the number of rinks in each section to eight. In tbo pairs match all games- will bo of sixteen heads, except tho final, which will be of twenty-one heads. It was resolved that the champion banner and shield (for record purposes) shall be held by the chib whoso rink wins tile rink championship at tho annual tournament, if that rink be affiliated to the Northern Bowling Association; hut if it ho not affiliated, then the club affiliated winning a final between tho club rinks so affiliated. The banner is to bo used by tho winning club on special occasions only, and returned, together with the shield, to the secretary of tho association fourteen days prior to the following tournament.
Tho Fitzroy howling green will he officially opened for the season on Thursday afternoon next, when members of other clubs and residents of Fitzroy arc cordially invited to be present.
