THE DAIRY SCHOOL.
DISCUSSED BY'DAIRY CONFERENCE. (By Our Special Reporter.) PALMERSTON N., June 22. Mr. E. Griffiths (New Plymouth) brought up tho question of the Dairy School at the annual meeting of tho National Dairy Association on Tuesday. He said while Mr. M‘Nab was Minister a certain amount of importance was placed on a school, but since then there had been practically nothing dono. There were no facilities whatever for scientific research in the industry. Tho A. and P. Association here had offered an acre of land for a dairy school, but nothing had been done, by the Government. Tho industry had now grown to groat proportions, something like three millions a year, and Mr. Griffiths considered it was absolutely essential , that a place for scientific dairy experiments should be instituted. Ho considered the association should help: Palmerston by urging' on tho Minister the necessity of erecting a dairy school. The chairman (Mr. Macfarlano) agreed with Mr. Griffiths, and said that as the election was now coming in sight again, and if individual members of "the association did a little log-rolling in tho way of interviewing the country members, they would help Palmerston best in that way.
