BRAID WINS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received June 25, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Juno 24. J. Braid won the open golf championship with a score of 299. The next best scores were: Alex. Herd 303 and Duncan 304. (The open championship of England was inaugurated in 1860, and since that year has been an annual event. This is the fourth year that Braid has won it, tho other occasions being in 1905, 1906 and 1908. Braid is one of tho leading professionals in England, and his reputation as a fine golfer is well known to most followers of the game. Herd, who is mentioned above, won the open championship in 1902, and Duncan is one of the foremost of the younger professionals. J. H. Taylor won the championship last year.]
