INGLEWOOD
(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) The tender of Messrs. Roberts and Son, of New Plymouth, has been accepted for the erection of Mr. Curtis’s new building. The work is to be gone on without delay, and four months should see the building completed. A now milliner is about to start business in Danilin's Buildings. Your correspondent had the pleasure of inspecting tho plans iof the now Presbyterian manse. The building will contain seven large rooms, exclusive of kitchen, bath-room, and storerooms. Provision is made for electric lighting and a hot and cold water service. The plans, which are beautifully drawn, arc the work of Mr. IV. Hood, of this town, and are a free gift to the church. Te Inglewood Tennis Club scut a team to Waitara yesterday, and came home victorious by tiie narrow margin of six games. The Wesleyan Church people intend holding a garden party in Mr. Spindle’s grounds on tho afternoon of tho 17th. Tho funds are in aid of their Bazaar fund. The same evening the Papaknra Ladies Hockey Club will hold their annual social in the Parish Hall. This social is one of Inglewood’s pet functions, and the young ladies anticipate a record attendance. St. Patrick’s Day will see the birth of a new firm in Inglewood. On that date Messrs. Matthews and Bennett will take over the business of tho oldestablished firm of Vickers and Stevens. , ■ Yet another St.. Patrick’s Day at- « action —the annua] meeting of the iglewood Football Club in the Drum’s Hall. I hear that the Foresters are considering tho erection of a now hall in Inglewood. Congratulations to tho local bowlers on Thursday’s victory in New Plymouth !
