SCHOOL BUILDINGS.

QUESTION OF GRANTS. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Feb. 16. At tho meeting of tho Education Board this morning it was resolved that the board regret that tho Minister should deem it necessary to reduce tho ordinary building grant by so largo an amount, without prior intimation, and after the hoard had entered upon obligations, relying upon tho maintenance of tho principle laid down by tho Education Committee in 1903 and adopted by tho Minister. The board regrets also that the Minister does not fully appreciate tho absolute necessity for hoards being given assured finance in order that thoy may properly discharge thoir functions and avoid recurring financial embarrassment. The board will bo glad to receive an assurance that tho building grant be reinstated without delay upon lines laid down by education committees.
