Most broad-minded people are glad to meet a clergyman who speaks plainly ami is not afraid, as the saying goes, to call a spado a spade. Apparently, however, all jnsrsons aro not so minded, especially those whose self-complacency is shaken by plain-spokennoss from others. In speaking at the anniversary celebrations in Whiteley Hall last night the Rev. J. G. Chapman remarked that ho had heard that some members of the congregation did not agree with his views as expressed from the pulpit. But ho would not bo dictated to by his congregation, and would continue to preaefi the gospel as ho road it.
