NEW) ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 17. At a meeting of the Council of tho Now Zealand Athletic Association tonight, letters were received from Wheatley and Davis, of Australia, stating they were unable to undertake the proposed tour of tho dominion early this year. Several communications wore received regarding the proposed methods of providing for representation at the Olympic Games. The Invercargill centre disapproved of a special levy on club’ members. Auckland recommended a levy of sixpence per club member, and Canterbury still had the matter under consideration. A committee was appointed to revise the- rules of the Association. It was decided to support tho Tasmanian clubs’ suggestion that the distance for tho Australian cross-ebuntry cha-mpionship, five or ton miles, may bo fixed by the association conducting that event. Applications from W. C. Wooclger and W. C. Moxtcd for re-instatoment as amateurs were hold over. Henry (Cambridge) and J. E. Falconer (Oamaru) were re-instated. Alfred M'Donald, of Stratford, is to he reinstated provided ho joins either of the two clubs in the district. and W. C. Mexted for reinstatement W. Eglinton (Palmerston North), L, J. Furrie (Wanganui) and A. W. Hall (Palmerston North).
