Matthews 106 "25 81 ' This trophy is decided on three days' play, the best aggregate score for the three rounds to win. Last Saturday WfH-k the first round was played when Williams returned the best card— 72 nott. The third round will be decided next Saturday. The present position shows Williams in the lead with 149 and M'Cord second with 161— a difference of twelve strokes. On Thursday there will be a mixed foursome competition, entries for which close- with any member of the match committee on Wednesday at 4 p.m. H. B. Armitapc and W. Bcwley, of the Ngamotu CUib, who have been competing at the New Zealand tournament at Auckland, returned to New Plymonth from the north by the Rarawa this morning.
