Yourelle v. the Wellington City Council, the jury gave judgment for plaintiff for £101 18» lOd. Tho question of costs Was reserved. The plaintiff, an architect, daim- > ed £64 Ids 4d special damages, and! £250 general damages, for injuries sustained by falling into a hole on the Barade at Island Bay in January last. _ [c broke his arm and received other injuries. The daim involved a charge against the City Council -of negligence in not -haying the place properly protected, an lit. The defence was a denial of negligence in not having the place properly lit. Certain law points nave yet to ,be arcued.
