The entries for the principal events are : — Amateur championship, 80; open championship. 66; foursome bogey, 100; bogey handicap, 92; medal handicap, -86; driving mnnpetition, 72. The professional match has attracted six entries, which include the leading i W'lyers of the Dominion, Clements (of anganui), present open champion of New Zealand, being one of the number. , The competitors for the amateur and open championships include H. C. • Smith, of Dunedin, present amateur champion of New Zealand, and Arthur Duncan, of Wellington, ex-champion.
