COMING FIXTURES

September 13 to 18.— Amateur and Open Championship Meeting at Auckland. September 22 to 25.— Amateur championship meeting at Napier.

The Ngamotu ladies on Tuesday will play the second round for Mrs. II Western's cup. The competitions foi the men are: Thursday, a medal handi cap; Saturday, the second round ior the committee trophy. There will be no matches at Vogeltown uext week. On Monday the New Zealand amn tour and open championship meeting will be commenced. The Ngamotu Club was unable to be represented by ;• team, but Armitage, a member of the club, will be a competitor. The en tiios close to-night. Some of the holes on the Vogeltown links have been altered from their original position, the length being the chief alteration. Members say that the alterations arc an improvement tv the course.

Tho HokowiUl links (Palmerston North) have been the scene of much record breaking of late. At the re cent ladies' tournament cm this course good records were returned only to be lowered, until two players finally »s tablished the ladies' record. Now « men's record has been established h.\ J. (.'. Bidwdl, who at the iwn's torn uameiit this week returned two score of 78 and 77, which make an amateui record for the links.

An interelub match between tcauif representing the Vogeltown ami Win tara clubs will probably be played on the Vogeltown links ou Thursday week, Septemlier 23. The first competition on the Vogeltnwn links was held this week. 1* was a mixed foursomes competition f<n <i prize presented by Mr. (i. Grey. Play extended over both Thursday afternoon and this afternoon. Evers member of the club except one lady entered for the competition. Miss E. (<ray has this year won the Miramar (Wellington) ladies' champion ship, having doh>»t»»d Mrs. P. C. Fleet li in the final. Miss (iray is a sister of (.'. (iray, of the Ngamotu Club, and I understand that this is only her sucoud season on tho links.
