MacLaren, captain of the English Eleven, in an article to Countiy Life on the test mtftdb&j says; the Australians thoroughly l doserrfed their/victories. The* #ro>ed "themselves the best side ana played like' good sportsmen. Tney could not neve played fairer. Macartney's performance at I eeds was one of the 'finest this year. The English ' batting ' throughout was , unsound.
[Macartney, in the third test match at Leeds, took wickets for 58 runs in the first innings and four wicket* for 27 runs in the secotid innings. j
