PROPOSED NEW DRILL SHED.
At the meeting of the Taranaki Education Board- yesterday reference was made to the letter from LieutenantColonel Okey in regard to the proposal to erect a drill hall on the board's reserve, St. Michael's Square, upon the understanding that the building would be available for school and 'cadet instruction purposes. The matter was before the board at its July meeting, but no decision was arrived at. ■ Mr. Trimble moved and) Mr. Rogers seconded, that Col. Okey's letter be acknowledged. Mr. Kennedy moved as an amendment, that in the event of further information being received from Col. Okey, vthe. matter of the site for drill shed will be considered. The amendment was seconded by Mr. Adlam and carried on a division, Messrs. Trimble and Rogers recording their votes against ,it. _,
