GRAY MAKES A BREAK OF 836. (Received August 26, 11 a.m.) - MELBOURNE, August 25. Young Gray, playing against Lindrum, broke the'.world'B record with a break of 836, of which 831 were- off the red. . v % .
[QueenstandeVs, according to the Sydney Referee,, recently waxed enthusiastic over George Gray's great performance in an exhibition' game against Lindrum. The boy's gentle, unassuming manner and civility have endeared him to all with whom he has come in contact. It was rumoured in Sydney one evening that the hid had run his unfinished 350 break into a world's record ef 879. The previous record breaks were 802 by H. W; Stevenson on February * 16, 1905 (recognised by the 8.A.), and 821 by Jonn Roberts on January 34, 1904, in Scotland. By, means of the now abolished cradle cannon W. Cook, in June, 1907, scored 42,746. By means of the same stroke T. Recce subsequently scored 499,135, but the latter was not passed by the Billiard Association, as it was not made entirely in public play.] ,
