UNFAIR COMPETITION.

By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright (Received August 26, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, August 25. Mr. Winston Churchill, President of the Board of Trade, informed the Hon. J. W. Taverner, Agent-General in London for Victoria, thkt he was doubtful whether any administrative measures exist whereby he can prevent the importation'of loaded leather. He .suggested that ' the Victorian tanners should take united action to bring the excellence of their leather before the public.

[Recently the Hon. Taverner interviewed Mr. Winston Churchill respecting the Victorian Tanners' Association's complaint that. America and Canada were exporting loaded leather to London. Mr. Taverner "urged the Minister to take 'action to prevent unfair competition. Mr. Churchill snid it looked as if there was cheating. He would make full inquiries and see what he could do.]
