CLASSIFICATION OF TEACHERS.
WANGANUI, August 24. At the Education Board meeting tonight the chairman <Mr. Pirani) referred to the Auckland Education Boaod'a acheine for the classification of teecht «t§. , Mr. Pirani said that the system was crude apd'not to he compared with the Wanganui scheme. The Auckland Board had only - three grades, while Wanganui classified on the following, ground* — Service, ten ; teaching, thirty ; organising, .ten ; discipline, ten ; attention to environment, ten ; educational standing, twenty ; personality, ten. By this means, said Mr. Pirani, the hoard was able to establish the qualifications of a teacher to a nicety, and the board advised every teacher as to his position on the list. The board had had, only one complaint, and -«n that caae^ the. board considered, the inspector's olataification wan correct. Mr. Pirani waas , to-night re-elected chairman of the* Education Board.
