LONDON MARKETS.
LONDON, August 13. Wheat.— The brilliant weather, the lower American prices, tho pressure to sell now Russian and Canadian grain, aro combining to depress the markets. There is little inquiry for cargoes. Holders aro asking 4'2s for whoat afloat. There is but a small demand for Australian on tho siwt at 45s 3d. New Zealand longberry is quoted at 455, shortberry 44s 6d. Flour.— The market is weak and inactive. Australian patent makes are quoted in London at 325, and Glasgow at 32s 6d. Oats. — There is a fair inquiry for New Zealand. 20b 8d to 21s 3d has been paid for gartons and sparrowbills by near steamers, and 19s 6d to 20s is asked for July shipments. There is a fair trade in La Plata oats at 16s 9d. Butter. — The market is quiet and unchanged. There is no demand for colonial. The Pericles shipment has been all stored. Copper.— On the spot, £59 16s 3d; three months, £60 15s; electrolytic, £61. Tin.— On the spot, £135 ss; three monthßf £136 15s. Lead, £12 lls 3d. Sugar. — German, £1 ss; first marks, 13s 6d. Wool. — On the Bradford wool market fair business is being done. Quotations: Forties 121 d, forty-sixes 14id, common sixties 25jd, super 26} d, sixtyfours 27Jd. Wheat.— l2,ooo to 15,000 quarters of the new crop December-January ship'niont sold for 395. Pig iron, 50s 2d. Spelter, £2 17s Bd.
