Tho Ilugbj' Union at a general meeting ovorwnelmingly rejected Air Byrne's motion that proiessioualism existed and that tho committee had not consistently enforced the piotcsbional laws.

[Last January the Scottish Rugby Union cancelled its fixture with England because the English Union sanctioned payments to tho "All Blacks" and Wallabies of one guinea a week to each man, besides his expenses. Tho Scottish committee unanimously opposed these payments as being contrary to the ' principle of ' amateur football, anil declared that they amounted to professionalism.]
