At the trial of the youth Williams for the murder of Johnston 'at Wowaa, last December, accused made a statement that he was working; for Johnston. They quarrelled and Johnston struck him. On the spur' of the moment he picked up a hammer, struck and killed Johnston and saiik the body in tho river. Afterwards he sold Johnston's horses and waggon.
