DISPUTE OVER CATTLE.
Deals in cattle in 1907 were th<? law of a dispute between James White Harding, of Inglewood. and John (jo ( > r^rp j£iown, now of Thair.cp. Mr. Quilliam "abpeared for Harding and Mr. JchnstonKf for defendant. In 1007 Brown v&s a farmer at Uugbv Pond, Tariki, atf(l Harding a cattlo dealer in the neighbourhood. As a consequence of extended dealings in cattle Hardiug claimed £52 for balance of goods sold and delivered. This amount was admitted by Brown, who, however, counterclaimed £50 7s from Harding for similar items. Harding admitted £31 14s 6d oi this amount, but disputed £18 2s (3d. There was a direct conflict of testimony in the matter. The evidence of Brown and his wife was taken on commission at the Thames.
His Worship found in favour of Harding for £19 15s 6d, less £1 ,13s paid into Court, with costs £2 18s. '
