HAZARDS AT NGAMOTU

Jt has been decided that on the Ngamotu links the following shall (in addition to those laid down by the Rules of Golf) be deemed hazards : -—

Permanent" water, hazards (to which rule 27, paragraph 1, shall apply) — The swamps on the way to No. 1 green ; tho swamp on the way to No. 2 green ; the swamp on the extreme left of No. 8 green ; the swamp on theieft going to No. 9 green ; the swamp on the -right going to No. 9 green 7 (outside of fence only). All ditches except in front of No. 1 tee and that behind No/ 3 green. The path which crosses the rough ground below No, 0 tee a hazard,

All roads from fence to fence are hazards, and the old clause relating to permanent grass in these and all hazards does not now apply. Rule 27, paragraph 1, referred to above is: "If a ball lie or be lost in a recognised water hazard (whether the ball lie in water or not), or in casual water in a hazard, the player may drop a ball under penalty oi one stroke either (a) behind tho hazard, keeping the spot at which the ball crossed the margin of the hazard between himself and the hole, or (b) in the hazard keeping the spot at which tho ball entered the water between himself and the hole."
