General Sir O' Moore Cieagh, V.C . X.C.8., succeeds Lord Kitchener a-Commander-in-Chief o^, India. [Genoral Croajjji has been commanding a first-class district in India since 1903 He entered the Indian Army in 1870 and commanded tho 2nd Baluch'is and was appointed Hon. Colonrl of the 44th Merward Infantry in 1889. He was assistant QuartermasteiGe.neral, Bombay command, in 1895 . Political Resident and General Officer commanding Aden from 1898 to 1900 ; served in China in 1901, being mentioned in despatches. Ho was decorated for valour in the Afghan War of 1879-1880; the Zhob Expedition and the China Expedition.]
