We have received the following r6- v port from the Taranaki, Petroleum Co., Ltd. :— No. 3 bore has now been temporarily closed down and work a*,lNa.1 bore has been resumed. Silxty-two fetft of mud have "been pumped out ot tnffi bore and 188 ft of , cavings have been; drilled. Since re-open^ng, gas and some oil have been- coming* the ga& at times being very strong. , - * At No. 2 bore the work has been going on steadily, the pump working fairly well, and a considerable quantity ■ of gas and oil has been coming up/tneflatter, however, being mixed with a fair proportion of silt. With the arrival of the new pump,, which is expected~ very~shortlyrit- » .hoped, that better Tesults will be obtained at this well, especially as.tho manager considers thai he can now oope with the sand difficulty.
