GOLF.

THE SEASON OPENED. The Ngamotu Club was opened for the 1909 season at the links on Saturday afternoon. The day Was fine, but a strong wind blowing from the Breakwater was not conducive to good play. The links were in very good order, and iv spite of the previous evening's rain the greens were in most cases playing fast and true. The winners returned the good score of 91 net, A handicap mixed foursomes match* for prizes donated by the club captain (Mr. C. H. Burgess) was played. There were sixteen entries^ The following are the eight- best scores: —
