Fine weather was again experience( for the second day's racing of th< T.J.C. autumn meeting. There wa a big crowd. Ten bookmakers wer< licensed. The course proper, and lawns etc., again bore evidence of the car< and attention received from Mr. J Blewrnan, the caretaker. Results : — PUKOTORI HACK HURDLES, of 6( soys, second horse to receive 1( soys from the stakes. One mik and a half. Mr. T. Lloyd's br m Speciosa, 6 yrs, 11.1 (N. Campbell) ] Mr. J. R. M'Donald's b g Waimaria, 6 yrs, 9.2 (A. M'Connon) 5 Mr. E. MorisonVbr g Rookby, 11.3 (W. Young) .-: 3 Also started: Whimper 10.7 (J. Lyford), Black Banner 10.2 (H. Copestake), Somali 9.4 (W. Hurle), Taupo 9.0 (C. Cress), Golden Glow 0.0 (F. Flynn). Black Banner led from the start, followed by Speciosa, Somali, and Taupo. In this order they went down the back, Golden Glow whipping in the field. At the bottom' end Black Banner was still in front and Waimaria had gone into third place. Taupo, Somali, and Whimper were bunched just in the rear, and Golden Glow was still whipping in. Same order passing the stand first time; then Waimaria went up and soon put three or four lengths between Speciosa next. At the back Black Banner was third and Rookby next, followed by Whimper, Golden Glow last. Nearing the straight Speciosa, under the whip, made a brilliant dash and led by half a length into the run home, eventually winning from Waimaria bj a couple of lengths. Price), Genuine 7.4 (R. Hatch), Waihuku 7.3 (Buchanan), Te Kauharangi 6.12 (T. Carroll), Clonpett 6.12 (F. Doleman). From the rise of the barrier Cyrene' s colours were first to show in front, followed closely by St. Maria. After a furlong Kareroa was out in front, St. Maria next, , with Cyrene third. Kareroa held his lead all the way and won comfortably by a good length from Cyrene, who put up a good finish, beating St. Maria by a similar distance for second place. Clonpett 'was fourth. Burton -on the "rails was quickest away, with Durability, Shannon Lass md Hydraulic' next out. At the end of the first furlong the positions had not changed. Mulga Bill, who was slow fco get going, began to work down the break the field had on him, and at three furlongs was well* up. Here Hydraulic took iro the second running, Burton still leading the way, and Mulga Bill like a shot from a gun passed by several of the bunch before reaching the straight, but had a hopeless task in trying to get up to the vanguard. Clemency came away fast at the bottom of the straight and Shannon Lass again got into second position. Burton won by a length and a half. CQemency was a good third. Flynn), Tiptoe 7.12 (T. Jones), Taitoko 7.12 (C. Jenkins), Belario 7.3 (R. Young). After some delay caused by Golden Eagle the field was got away evenly. Entering the straight Whetumarama, Chanteuse, Tiptoe, Taitoko, and Golden Eagle were first seen in that order, with Kilmarnock already many length* in the rear. Passing the stand Whetumarama, Chanteuse, arid Belario led in a bunch, and at six furlongs Tiptoe was running second to Whetumarama, Taitoko third, Belario next, Kilmarnock nearly a furlong in the rear. At four furlongs the prder was Whetumarama, Taitoko, Tiptoe, and Golden Eagle. At the bottom the field dosed up, Golden Eagle going second and Chanteuse alsc coming up very fast. Kilmarnock was now covering a lot of ground. Goldor Eagle made a sprint down the' straight but Whetumarama had still enough gc in him to beat her by a length and c half, with Chanteuse four lengths awa;, third.
