LIGHT-WEIGHT.
A. Lovegrove (lOst) v. L. Tresiducr (9st 111b).— Three rounds of good clean] friendly boxing were fought., The first! was a fairly even one, Lovegrove having a slight advantage. Tresidder, a boxer who is comparatively an un-j known quantity in lical boxiug circles., but who is not unknown elsewhere. made an excellent showing. In the second round he did even better, siai><l-| ing Hj'. to his experienced oppose n; well, landing frequently. H ."re \\G€ not, however, enough power behind his blo.v*. lie showed much holier cjik l!tion than Lovegrove, who was also handicapped by a strained leg. Thej third round was- another even one. Tresidder led all through, but as before,' lacked power in his blows;. Lovegrove showed his greater experience. His blows were cleaner, stronger, mid better placed than Tresidder's. Had he been in condition he could have knocked the younger man out two or three times. The referee awarded the victory to Tresidder.
