MESSRS ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS.
PALMERSTON N., March 19. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Palmerston North, report: — On Thursday we had a full yarding of sheep, principally aged. Breeding ewes met with rather a dragging sale. Several lines of good f.f.m. ewes met with keen' competition, and realised good prices. Thejrarding of cattle was smaller than usual, and cpnsisted chiefly of female stock, for which the demand was not particularly good. Quotations :
Big framed, good conditioned, aged ewes 10s 7d to 11s Id, f.f.m. ewes 9s Id to 10s 6d, f.m. ewes 6s 6d to Bs, aged ewes. 5s to 7s, cull ewes 3s to 4s 6d, lambs 5s 9d to 6s 6d, 4-tooth wethers 10s 3d, 2-tooth ewes 12s 7d, Romney rams 15s to £1. Cattle.— light fat cows £4 ss, for-; ward cows £2 8s to £3 ss, store cows 35s to £2 'ss, empty 2-year heifers I 335, bulls £3 7s 6d to £4 12s 6d, weaner steers 15s.
