Wheat — The market is firm, confidence having recovered. There is renewed inquiry for distant shipments at a premium over the present prices. Twc cargoes of Australian wheat soldv at 39s 6d and 39s 9d respectively. Holders are asking 40s 3d for the MarchApril shipment and 40s 6d for the April-May shipment. Flour is steady but less animated. Patent brands ia,.L6ndon brought 295. In Glasgow they. are unchanged. Butter is very; flat with little inquiry for the colonial article, retailers preferring other descriptions. Prices nominally are unchanged. Copper — On spot £55 3s 9d, three months £56, electrolytic £56 10s. Tin — On spot £129 2s 6d, threa months £130 12s 6d. Iron, 46s 3d ; spelter, £21 2s 6d. Sugar is firm. German 10s sd, first marks 12s 4d.
Wool — The Bradford wool market ic* excited. The turnover is restricted. Quotations: Forties 12-£ d, forty-sixes Is 2d, common sixties 24d, super 25d, sixty-fours 26d. The London sales included the Toroa clip, which brought B|d, and the Kahumingi clip, 9|d.
