At tho Addington workshops' inquiry t-o-duy it was nniiounced tlmt the eiiiployees would be represented |>y H. .Hampton.
Evidence \\ aa given by T. Ronayne, General Manager of Haihvays, who said the letter to tho mechanical engineer containing the charges was the outcome of complaints made by his informant, whose name ho to give. Ho had since caused an inquiry to he made, and was satisfied there was no ground for complaint. Tho Hon. E. Jcnkinson said part of the charges in Mr Ronayne's letter were evidently based on a conversation ho had with him. He made a long statement regarding work at Addington, stating tliat tho present system prevented good and economical results. Some of the machinery was old, and the appliances defective.
