A meeting of ladies, convened by the Mayoress, was held to-day to promote a fund with the object of the establishment of a memorial to the brave stewardesses who were lost in the Penfi,uin wreck. It was decided to collect funds and endow a bed in the "Wellington Hospital for the xiso of any stewardesses incapacitated by illness. It' funds warrant it, beds will be provided in other Nea Zealand centres.
