THE OHINEMURI INQUIRY,
SCOPE OF THE COMMISSION.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 10. The scope of the commission en tho Ohinemuri licensing case is now available. The commission to Judge Sim says: — "Whereas it has be.en alleged that in connection with an application made to the Ohinemuri Licensing Committee, in June, 1900, by Maurice Goggan Power, for a grant of a license at Waihi. money was paid to several members of the committee as bribes to support tho application, Judge Sim is appointed » commission to inquire into the allegations, and as to the necessity for tho expediency of legislation." A report has to be furnished to tlio Governor on the 30th of this mnnth.
Judge Sim is not technically a Judge of the Supreme Court, but in order to give him the full powers of a Supreme Court Judge sitting as a commission, he has been appointed a temporary Judge of the Supreme Court. .
