A BUILDING BOOM.

———.. f WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. Frequ^ntf-complaints have recently been made that there is a dearth of employment in New Zealand for carpenters. The following .might be good news for carpenters who are out of work in the /Dominion. A gentleman well known in business circles in the city is in receipt of, correspondence from a large building contractor in Brisbane, who states that: "Just now there is a bit of a boom in the building trade' in Brisbane, with the result that there is a dearth of tradesmen. I understand things in New Zealand at the present time are dull, and that trade is fairly slack. I know that during the time of depression here la many Queensland workmen went over to your Dominion in search of employment, and possibly if they knew that things were on the up-grade here they would come back again."
