ST. MARYS CHURCH.

(To the Editor.) Sir. — 1 share the feelings of your correspondents '* Indignant " and "S.A.D." with regard to the ivy upon our beautiful church, nnd equally deplore its destruction. At the meeting of parishioners which was called to c-onsider the question of damage to th«» woodwork of tho church by the borer, in course of discussion this matter of tho ivy was mentioned. I strongly protected against the destruction, but the majority present — and there were not more than about a dozen altogether — while regretting tho necessity, appeared to aeeepi the theory of damage to tho mortar without further question. Tho damage having been done, like Humpty-Dumpty, all the newspaper correspondence cannot put it right ugain. 1 would therefore advise both "Indignant" and 'S.A.D." to bottle up their feelings until the annual mooting of parishioners in April next, when no doubt there will be an opportunity for discussion. — I am, etc., ' STANLEY W. SHAW.
