AX APPEAL DISMISSED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 1. At the Supreme Court yesterday, Mr Justice Cooper delivered bis reserved jmlg.nent in a case in which John Franklyn Smith appealed against bis ♦onviction on a charge ot sly grog selling in Wellington. The ground of the appeal was that the evidence of two probationary constables upon which Smith's conviction was based was not corroborated by any of the other witnesses.
