THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS. In our amusement columns to-day a notice appears announcing the advent of a London musical attraction of a novel character which has been sent to New Zealan dby Mr Edward Branscombe. This is a Comedy Costume Company known as the "Scarlet Troubadours," who will make their first appearance at the Theatre Royal to-mor-row night. As in the case of Mr Branscombe's Westminster Glee Party, who visited these colonies some three years ago, part singing is made a distinctive feature, but in place of serious music wo arc promisea that, whilst the musical excellence is still maintained, the programmes will for the most part contain humourous numbers given in character and costume.TBhc "Troubadours" number eight vocalists, six gentlemen and two ladies, amongst them being two late members of the famous London Meistcr Glee Singers. The fact that they are under the direction of Mr Edward Branscombe is a "hall-mark" for 5 their performances.
