Mr H. Kerr, the champion walker, who represented New Zealand' at the Olympia Games, returned to his home at Tariki on Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Isaac Bayly returned this morning from Auckland, where they have been residing for some months. The many friends of Mr Robert Elkm will regret' to hear *>f his death which tcok place to-day at Opotiki from heart failure. In the results of this year s annual examinations of the students of Victoria College, New Plymouth is well represented. R. H. Quilliam (Nelson College) kept ternis for the first yenr, and received third class passes in English, jurisprudence, and constitutional i history, and Latin (junior). Olivo I Haddrell and H. L. Cook kept second year's terms. H.- Cook gained a first class pass in the senior class of English literature, a second class pass- in jurisprudence, a fi,rst .class pass in constitutional history, and a second class pass in Latin (senior). Olive Haddrell m i the B senior .French division received i a second class pass, and in Latin (senior) a first class, and passed the education examination. J. N. Bullard (Nelson College) received a third class pass !-in. jurisprudence. Truby King passed i the education examination.
