THE HARBOUR LOAN PROPOSALS.
MEETING AT ELTHAM
The meeting of Harbour Boa)d ratepayers held at Eltham on Friday was poorly attended. Messrs Marx, Conaett and Thomson expounded ( the loan proposals. No motion was put to tho meeting.
Interest in tho Now Plymouth Harbour Board's Empowering Bill hf>s lulled (say.s tho Waimatc Witness). The statutory meetings of ratepayers called in the various districts are passing unnoticed, and one or two have lapsed. With the compromise- arranged by removing objectionable features, the Bill should be carried at the poll to be hold next month.
