MR. BRUNTNELL' S MISSION

Mr Albert Brutttnell, secretary of the New South Wales Alliance, who is working in the Taranaki electorate under the auspices of the Taranaki Provincial No-license Council, was to have spoken in Brougham Street on Saturday night but owing to a severe cold was compelled to forego the engagement. However, Mr Bruntnell was so far recovered as to be able to speak on the Sports Ground yesterday afternoon when, despite the inclemency- of the weather, a large number of people assembled. Mr Bruntnell is now in Waitara. He will be returning to New Plymouth to-morrow and will speak here during the week.

Mr Bruntnell, writes our Waitara correspondent, addressed a large audience at the St. John's Hall, Waitara, on Sunday evening. The Mayor, Mr W. F. Jenkins, occupied the chair

The Waihi Sports Club intends holding its annual gathering oil November 19.
