FAREWELL TO JAPAN

Replying to a speech made by Baron Komura at the farewell to the American fleet, Admiral Sperry declared that no two countries had ever clasped hands across the seas so warmly. Both might rest content that intelligent sympathy had drawn the pneient ties still closer. The public's send-off to the fleet was enthusiastic.
