The following reports will be presented to the fortnightly meeting of the New Plymouth Borough Council, to be held on Monday.
KAWAF PA RESERVE.
The Works Committee reported that the Mayor was authorised to forward tUe pW oi, ; the,?iwau Pa Reserve for the approval" 01 'the Governor-m-Comi-cil. the. following conditions haying been agreed to by the Harbour Board: — t The Harbour Board to undertake : t (1) To dedicate as a road a triangle of land at the corner ot sections 7 and 8, Kawau Pa. as shown on plan, having a frontage not exceeding 35 feet down the boundary of section 8 and Huatoki Stream. (2) To dedicate a strip of land not exceeding two feet of sections 1, 6, 7, 8, and right of way for widening Gill Street extension. (3) To pay all costs in connection with the dedication, etc. The Borough Council to undertake 4... . »
(1) Remit the £75 arranged to be paid for the formation or Currie Street extension. (2) Forward plan of subdivisions 1 o Governor-iu-Council for his sanction to the resolution that section 117 of the Pubhn Works Act shall not apply to Kawau Street and Gill" Street.
AVORKS COMMITTEE.
The Works Committee recommends: That permission be given to Mr. A. Beeston to erect a signboard at the comer of Liardet and Devon Streets, the board to be removed whenever required by the Council; that the deputation 'from the Fitproy Town Board be informed that the Council is unable to accede to the request for assistance in metalling Devon Road; that Mr. John Roberts be granted the lease ot ths western part of section 13, Storehouse Reserve, not occupied by the septic tank, for the sum of 10s per week, such tenancy to be deternunable by three months' notico in writing by either party, the lessee to have the right to remove any buildings erected by him, and the Council to have free access to the septic tank, the lessee to fence the site leased to him at his own expense; that the Waterworks Engineer (Mr. Hooker) be granted the necessary material required for the porch, washhouse and fencing,, at tho waterworks cottage ; that the arc lamps be erected, one between Currie Street and Liardet? Street, and one between Liardet and Gover Streets; that Mr. List be informed that the Council is unable to accede to his request tor better access to his back section in Fillis Street; that, as recommended in his report, the Borough Engineer be authorised to effect repairs in Woolcombe Terrace near section 12To (estimated cost £15); that the Borough Engineer be instructed to proceed with the installation of the by-pass at the reseitvoir (cost as provided for 111 tho estimates, £450); the Council resolve that the provisions of section 117 ot the Public Works Act, 1908, shall uot apply to the Buller Street and Molesworth Street, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Gov-erhor-in-Council for approval. Ihis resolution "is submitted at the request of the Railway Department, which is selling property fronting these streets.
DRAINAGE COMMITTEE.
This committee recommends that tho Borough Engineer be authorised- to lay a sewer (about two chains in Peridarves Street east of Eliot Street (estimated cost £7).
ABATTOIR COMMITTEE, The Abattoir Committee recommends that the Borough Engineer be authorised to make arrangements to employ Mr. J. Hodgson to take charge ot the machinery and other work at £2- 2s per week (weekly engagement).
