WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.
At' the monthly meeting of Wajtara West Road Board there were present : Mr S. TunibuUXcnakman), Messrs Connett, Smith, and Yule. Mr J. B. Roy wrote that the plan of Kelly Road deviation required altering, and that after this was done he would -complete the transfer of land: to Messrs Smith and Fawcett. Surfaceman Paul reported that he had recoated fourteen chains on the Wortley Road, using 182 yards of metal. The Richmond Road Ijad also been repaired, taking 18 yards oi; metal. -Fer-%he remainder of month he haa been grubbing furze on Sisson Terrace and clearing water-tables on Te. Arei, Richmond, Lepper, and Corb?tt-Roads. Surfaceman Palmer reported he had put in the 24in. culvert on the Karaka Road and the remainder of the month had been forming up some unmetalled roads. Messrs H. Hall and N. P. Rickard presented a petition. asking that tho whole of the rates on the county part of the Richmond Road should be allocated to that road, but the Board objected to -this. Mr 1 Smith reported that Mr Herricks required pipes laid across his property to take surface water from Te Arei Road to the creek. The clerk was directed to inform him that the Board could not undertake the work. The clerk was directed to allocate the general rate to the several district roads. The following "amounts were transferred from contingent account: — To the Te Arei Road, £35; Cross, £21 : Corbett. £14; Wortlev, Richmond, and Kelly, £17 10s each; Waitara, £12 10s; and Manutabi East, £5. The Oerk was directed to draw up specifications for supply of metal for repairs to Te Arei, Wortlev, Brown and Tate Roads and three chains of metal on Manutnhi East Road, tenders to be in by the next meeting. Accounts amounting to £43 were passed for payment.
