PUMPING AT THE TALISMAN.

Per Press Association.

WELLINGTON, Sept. 21. The Wellington local committee of the Talisman Company has received information from Mr Stansfield that the by-laws and plans and estimate for the new pumping plant were cabled to London for the Board's approval on Saturday. On that day the water had reached within two feet of where the pumps are ready to .commence work in No. 12 level.

Later information is more favourable, as the water * had not risen two feet per day since the previous Sunday. Directly the plans of the new pumping plant have been approved, the committee will be able to furnish full details.
