v Mr H. Okoy, M.P., arrived m New Plymouth by the express on Saturday. He returns to Wellington tomorrow. Mr P. A. Hadley, of the Hadley Petroleum Company, loft for Wellington b.y this morning's express. He will return about Thursday. \ Mr F. E. Baume, K.C., M.P,, and Mrs Baume passed through New Plymouth this morning en route to lington. I Mr A. T. Ngata, M.P., was a passenger by the Rarawa from North this morning. He proceeded to Wellington. by^ the express. r At the meeting of the- Taranaki Presbytery last week the Rev. Messrs "Osborne, Johnston, and Wilson were appointed representatives to the Assembly. „ , Mr N. Ecdeston, of Kaponga,-wno is bandmaster of the local band and a prominent Oddfellow, i» leaving 'for the Hastings district. ' > At least one New Zealander has; made up his mind to contest- a seat in tho British Parliament at the next general election, writes a London correspondent. This is Mr. J. C. Gleeson (Napier and Auckland) who came to the Mother Country with the professional ''All Blacks" as one of the financial managers ;, he remained on this side of i;he world. It is his intention, to stan&'tfor one of the Irish seats in the Liberal interest. But prior to the general election Mr. Gleeson. will go out to New Zealand. He will leave England in September for America, accompanying Mr. John Redmond, M.P. and Mr,. Joseph Devlin, M.P. for West Belfast, who are going to that country to attend a big convention. Mr. Gleesou will go to a number of the leading centres — New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, etc. . Mr. Devlin will probably be Kis companion until the New Zealander embarks on his return, voyr age to tb^ Dominion, He will rjg£urn to this country in good time for _, his electioneering work. *T
