HAWERA CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY.

The annual meeting of the Hawera Co-operative Dairy Company was held on Saturday. The report and balancesheet (already published) were adopted. Five new * directors were /required, and the voting resulted in the election of Messrs J. R. Corrigan, W. Hooper, W. Baker, G. Gould, and T. Hurley. Mr H. Graves was appointed auditor. The question of disposing of the season's output was discussed. The chair- ■ man's opinion was that open consignment was the best. The matter was left in tho hands of the directors.

The Deputy Official Assignee, Dannevirke, notifies a meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of John James Patterson. ' . A Sale of Work will b© opened tomorrow evening in the Army Hall at 8 o'clock by Mr E. Dockrill. Plain sewing, fancy-work, and other useful articles will be on show, while refreshments, lollies, etc., may be purchased. Phonograph selections will be given during the evening. The sale will be opjen on Thursday afternoon from 2.30 tilf 5 o'clock, and from 7.30 p.m. Trhe Railway Social Club has postponed its next social from the 11th to Friday 18th inst. A special feature of tho "Daffodil at Home" to be held fn the Whiteley Hall on Thursday afternoon and evening will be one thousand blooms exhibited by Mr J. Duncan, of Westown. In another column Mr Newton King advertises an unreserved sale of Dairy and farm stock to be held at Lepperton on Friday the 18th inst on account of Mr James Nicoll who has sold his farm. A reminder is given of tho sale of Mr C. Clarke's pedigree and grade Jerseys to be held by Mr Newton King at Corbett Road on Wednesday, the 9th inst. A freo brake will leave the mart at 12 o'clock on tho morning of the sale. These cattle oan be thoroughly recommended, Mr Clarke having won nine first prizes and two championships at tho principal shows last season. ■
