-O. Many old frionds will hear with regret of the death of Mr John Dunn, ot flnnera, who was quifr. one of tho old identities of the district. Ho came to New Zealand with the (55th Itogirnont. C>th men are hard to find nowadays, and therefore i'< is difficult to got reliable- information, but so far as «r (Han era Star) ran loam Mr Dunn arrived in Now Zealand just after tin Imperial troops had finished Ihoii ti^btin{4. and we are not awaro whcthei lie took service in tho local forces. H< was in T iVaii{j;anui for some time, bul tho bulk of his life* ho lived in tlu llawera district, lie was 77 years ol age.
