At the annual meeting of the Hawera Co-operative Dairy Company, tho directors stated that for the tirst time in the history of the company there was a falling off in milk supply — duo, no doubt, to the rough spring and dry summer. Interest paid to shareholders amounted to £219, an increase of £44. There was also an increase in bank interest, £140; insurance, £54; gravel, £62; law expenses, £65; fuel, £120; and wages, £1,156 — whilst freezing cost £200 le&."
In the balance-sheet the profit and loss account, showed among tho receipts Butter £9,518 17s sd, clieese !'27,587 4s lOd. The expenses included £;H), 025 0s 4d milk, purchased, wages t"2o l 2'r 13s 2d.
During the year 1 7,719, G101bs of milk were received, which, contained 671,388.831bs of butter-fat, the average tost being 3.79. There were 4,822,4761bs of milk used for butter making, out of which was produced 182,68,'i.1G1bs of butter-fat. The number of lbs of butter made was 206,292, the overrun being 12.9 per cent. There were used for cheese making 12,897,1391bs of milk, which contained 488,705.671bs butter-fat. There was a decrease in milk from previous season of 1,472,257 lbs and 66,591. 171bs butter-fat.
