THEFT FROM A DETECTIVE.
WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, John William, Bishop, alias Brown, who was employed as fireman and greaser on the steamer Rotoiti, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing horn the Royal Hotel, Wellington, a Gladstone bag and contents, valued at £25, the property of Chief Detective Mcllveney. Accused was remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence.
